PACSUN X ADIDAS

Denim & sneakers. As timeless as a suit and tie. With fashion and sports always intertwining it only makes sense for the two to work together continuously. PACSUN has now introduced Active Stretch to a lot of their denim for those of us who prefer a more trim and skinny fit but still want the mobility of jetting from the streets to wherever life takes us. Both jeans in this blog are a new fit called "skinniest" which both include the new active stretch technology. Before I jumped up to the rooftop of a skyscraper I paired the light indigo destroyed jeans with a pair of Adidas Ultra Boost 2.0 Triple Whites , rose lightweight sweatshirt with a  white scallop t-shirt layered under and a BAPE camo hat to complete the outfit. After dancing around the rooftop and hanging my feet off the side of a 55 story building it was time to change and head off to an abandoned barn to showcase the latest collaboration between Adidas and Pharrell Williams.

It's no secret that Pharrell Williams has not only made his mark in the music industry but also the fashion as well. Pharrell Williams and Adidas Originals team up on the HU series to celebrate human individuality. Made in cotton with concealed zip pockets for a sleek shape. Graphics covering this men's sweatshirt spell out "Human race" in Japanese text. The print is randomly placed making each piece unique. I was lucky enough to grab one of these before they sold out world wide and what better way to accent the piece than with an all black outfit with a pop of light pink. Pairing the skinniest black active stretch denim from PACSUN with a light pink Adidas Originals cap and black 2.0 Ultra Boost I was ready to explore the abandoned barn Ryan Barnett and I stumbled across. After finding it and having to climb a tall fence to get in I ripped a nice lil gash into my palm and was bleeding a good bit for most of the shoot, as you can see from the photos it was totally worth it. Hopefully those of you who have thought "skinny" jeans were just too tight or you couldn't move in them but still liked the look can now embrace it with the new denim PACSUN is stocking.

Rock on and stay RAD!

Nike Skateboarding

In 1997 Nike commenced its first line of skate shoes. After being rejected by many skate shops around the country they worked on a re-launch and in 2002 Nike SB was born and launched the Nike SB Dunk Low. Since that moment Nike SB has made a huge impact not only on skateboarding but fashion and streetwear as well. In the last 15 years the Nike SB brand has gone global and been in collaboration with many well known skaters, athletes and other brands.  Nike teamed up with GORE-TEX to create a seam sealed Coaches Jacket that is entirely waterproof. The jacket also features a drawcord at the hem and hook-and-loop straps at the wrists make the jacket versatile enough for wherever your day takes you. Storage? Not a problem, an internal, zippered pocket with a media port helps keep your mobile device secure and dry during rough-weather sessions. After grabbing the new SB gear from Black Sheep skate shop photographer Ryan Barnett and myself headed into NODA next to Coast To Coast Tattoo in an area recognized as Area 51. The rustic setting with vibrant painted walls made for a great backdrop to showcase the leopard print camouflage.

Next up Nike SB teamed up with legendary skateboarder Brian Anderson to bring us a modern style hockey jersey based off a wild hair sketch. As the 40-year-old boarder recounts the moment, saying “I just was sitting at a café while we were filming for our last video in Seattle, and I just drew up a hockey jersey.” When Anderson felt the need for a new size shirt, “large extra” — to fill a void for those who require a little space but don’t want to be overtaken in a boxy cut — he sent a rock ‘n’ roll merch-style hockey jersey to Nike as an example of what he is most comfortable wearing. “I sent it to campus to be like, ‘Hey guys, let’s follow this pattern,’” Anderson said. “The wrists and the forearms are not super baggy and wavy. The fitting is great.” The result is a yellow or black hockey jersey-inspired top featuring a jaguar head, captain’s “C” and a Swoosh, hand drawn by Anderson himself. “When I did that, I looked up old ’80s Nike stuff. And some of the logos were so huge,” he explains. “So I thought, ‘Why not make it that way, instead of some subtle thing…just put the logo on blast." After grabbing this jersey my first and only thought was Bojangles Coliseum and a slab of fresh ice to skate on with yellow and red accents to help pop the jersey off the crisp white ice. Unfortunately after getting in touch with one of the coaches of the Charlotte Checkers I was informed the arena was being used for other events at the time, so off we headed to the Pineville Ice House. Once we arrived I grabbed a pair of skates and stick and hit the ice to showcase how incredible this jersey really is.

If you enjoyed this period of Nike SB x Brian Anderson hockey jersey collaboration stay tuned as I have an exciting collaboration myself that will soon be facing off! Until then stay rad!

FOREVER 21 MEN

My friends over at FORVER 21 hit me up last week to be one of the sponsored influencers to showcase their upcoming men's spring collection. With a strong emphasis on a 90's style street wear I jumped at the chance.

Did you know .... FOREVER 21 is the 5th largest specialty retailer in the United States.
The average FOREVER 21 store is 38,000 square feet, the largest is approximately 162,000 square feet and the original FASHION 21 store is only 900 square feet.
FASHION 21 rung up $700,000 in sales in its first year. The prior three businesses that occupied that building failed within the first year.
Even with the company’s tremendous growth, it still remains a family owned business.

Ryan Barnett grabbed his camera and we headed out into the city to shoot a few different looks with the pieces FOREVER 21 sent. Oversized cut off flannels with side zips to tie-dye and distressed overalls and graphic t's were what we had to work with. Don't call it a comeback they've been here for years.

#CoachSpring2017

The weather is warming up fast, so pack your bags or bag and head off to destinations unknown. This spring Coach is "punking" up their new line adding color blocks, patterns and pins and patches. The bag I am carrying here in this blog is the Metropolitan Gym Bag with a classic varsity stripe. I rocked an all white outfit at the airport courtesy of Topman via Nordstrom's Mens Shop, then headed to an abandoned bible college switching to an all black outfit also courtesy of Topman. This set was shot by Noah Selent whom I had met through an instameet on a frigid day venturing around Lake Norman.

Sugar Mountain

Cold winter mornings are best spent with a delicious cup of hot coffee wrapped up in a cozy blanket with your significant other curled up by a fire. However, if you are me then I will make that coffee to go and grab that gorgeous lady and say "let's bundle up and go on an adventure into the frozen mountains." Well one frozen morning thats just what myself and Valentina did. We headed to the small village of Sugar Mountain, NC to show some winter styles from Black Sheep skate shop.
